Krista Bobo, Photographer

I have had a passion for photography as far back as I can remember. I made my first pin-hole camera, as instructed by "World Magazine," circa 1977. In my 5th grade class, we had a dark room, we shot, and developed, our own 35mm film. I remember the anticipation, and smell of processing chemicals, as the black and white photograph developed, and just hoping I got "the shot."  I recall my mom's Kodak Instamatic and the square flash bulbs that snapped into the top, 4 flash-pops and it was done. And the Polaroid, waving that square photo paper in the air to get it to dry faster then watching as the image emerged.

Photography, and the technology behind it, is changing daily. We used to have cellphones that took pictures, now we have mobile cameras that take phone calls. Digital cameras, photo editing software, social media platforms that instantly share images are amazing, but there is something simple, almost intimate, about looking at a photograph and really “seeing” it. A moment frozen in time, to explore, re-visit, and enjoy.

God has placed beauty all around and I never fail to be in awe of His creation. If I can share just a glimpse of the beauty I get to see and experience, and point people to the Creator of it all, then to God be the glory.

“In his hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind.”

~Job 12:10~
